Charlie Taylor joined Georgia Tech men’s basketball in May 2026 as a player development assistant, bringing experience in player development, scouting, analytics and basketball operations at both the Power 4 and mid-major levels. Taylor arrives on The Flats after contributing to successful programs at both Auburn and Troy.

In his role with the Yellow Jackets, Taylor will assist with player development, skill instruction, scouting, film breakdown and the day-to-day operations of the program.

Taylor spent the 2025–26 season as a graduate assistant at Troy University under current Georgia Tech men’s basketball head coach Scott Cross. Taylor supported player development, scouting, film analysis and daily program operations while helping guide the Trojans to Sun Belt Conference regular-season and tournament championships.

Before his time at Troy, Taylor spent three seasons as a student manager at Auburn University under head coach Bruce Pearl. During his tenure, he contributed to scouting, analytics, player development and team operations as the Tigers advanced to the program’s second-ever NCAA Final Four, captured the 2024–25 SEC regular-season championship and won the 2023–24 SEC Tournament title.

A native of Decatur, Ala., Taylor was a standout multi-sport athlete at Decatur High School, earning All-State honors and serving as team captain in both basketball and football. He also lettered in baseball and track and field while receiving All-Region recognition and Honor Roll accolades.

Taylor graduated from Auburn in August 2025 with a degree in marketing and a minor in sports coaching.
