As a Sophomore (2022): Started at third base in all 56 games … A mainstay at the leadoff spot for the Jackets, batted .238 on the season … Tallied 43 hits, eight doubles and three home runs for 30 RBI, 36 runs scored and 60 total bases … Slugged .331 and averaged a .361 on-base percentage … Stole two bases … Totaled 61 putouts and 94 assists from the hot corner … Scored the second most runs on the squad … Ranked third on the team in hits, RBI and total bases … Assisted in five double plays … Drew 28 walks, good for second on the squad … Career-high three hits as she batted 1.000 with a double in an 8-5 win over Saint Joseph’s (Feb. 12) … Tied those three hits in a 6-1 victory over Southern Illinois (Feb. 19) and against No. 3 Florida State (March 13) … Also scored a career-high three runs in the triumph over Saint Joseph’s … Hit a home runs in a 10-0, mercy-rule victory over ETSU (Feb. 26), against Notre Dame (April 3) and in an 8-1 win over Troy (April 19) … 10 multi-hit games … Eight multi-RBI games.
As a Freshman (2021): Appeared in 42 games, including 40 starts … Started 39 games at third and once as DP … Also subbed in at third and pinch hit … Batted .224 in her first year on The Flats on 22 hits, including three doubles, with nine RBI and 12 runs scored … Finished with a .255 slugging percentage and a .347 on-base percentage … Five multi-hit games on the season … Went 2-for-3 with a run scored at the dish in her first collegiate game, a 5-1 win over Boise State in the season opener (Feb. 12) … Hit her first career double in a 2-for-3 day against Clemson (Feb. 20) … Picked up first career RBI against Florida State (Feb. 18) … Went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI against Troy (April 21) … Had a perfect 2-for-2 day with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in an 8-0 win over Virginia … Went a perfect 2-for-2 once again with an RBI in a 6-3 win over Virginia to close out the regular season (May 2).
High School: A product of North Forsyth High School, Mallorie Black comes to The Flats from Cumming, Ga. The right-handed middle infielder lettered for four seasons under Jim Cahill at shortstop. In 2018 and 2019 she led North Forsyth to back-to-back Region 5-7A championship. She was named to the Region 5-7A all-academic team for three-straight years (2017-19). Black was tabbed first team all-state in 2018 and 2019 and was dubbed the Region 5-7A Offensive Player of the Year in 2017 and 2019.She finished the 2019 season with 63 RBI and 10 home runs. She carried a 20 game hitting streak during the 2019 season.
