Former Georgia Tech tight end Ryland Goede is in his first season on the Yellow Jackets’ staff, serving in a quality control position with Tech’s running backs.
Goede played one season at Georgia Tech as a graduate transfer in 2024 and was a valuable veteran presence for the Jackets, on the field and in the locker room. He saw action in 11 games in his lone season on The Flats, making five starts at tight end and catching six passes for 70 yards, including a touchdown reception in his final collegiate game versus Vanderbilt at the 2024 Birmingham Bowl.
Goede began his collegiate career with four seasons at Georgia (2019-22), where he was also a member of the Bulldogs’ baseball squad in 2020 and 2021. Following his graduation from Georgia in 2023, he and his wife, Alexa Fortin Goede, a volleyball student-athlete at UGA from 2019-22, both transferred to Mississippi State. Ryland and Alexa played for MSU in ’23 and, following the conclusions of their seasons and with Alexa’s eligibility expired, elected to return to their home state for Ryland to play his final collegiate campaign at Georgia Tech.
A native of nearby Kennesaw, Ga., Goede was a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 6-ranked tight end coming out of Kennesaw Mountain H.S., where he was an all-state selection and the school’s all-time leader in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns by a tight end.
Goede holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a certificate in sports media from UGA.
