Career Notes

Tough, head-strong player who improved markedly from the beginning of his junior season through the end of his senior year, in which he played the point full-time for the first time in his career … Excellent speed and quickness with or without the ball … Can change speed and direction well and dribble with either hand, though is predominantly left-handed … Reads defenses well … Good on-ball defender … Can knock down the three when open and made big strides in his floor game at the end of last season.

Started all but one game his last three seasons, and made 97 career starts… Had 47 double-digit games in his career (20 in ACC play) … Finished his career with 977 points, was 18th all-time in assists (283) and 14th in three-point field goals).

2012-13 – Game-by-Game Statistics

Scored in double digits in 11 games and was Tech’s fourth-leading scorer for the season at 8.3 ppg … Averaged 7.3 ppg for ACC games with four double-digit efforts… Had his best shooting and scoring effort of the ACC season against Virginia, hitting 4-of-8 overall, 3-of-5 on threes, and 4-for-4 at the line for 15 points… Struggled scoring and shooting (5.5 ppg, 18-for-68 FG) after that, but had 34 assists (3.1 pg) and just 12 turnovers in 13 games… His 91/53 assist/turnover ratio was the best of his career… Tech was 12-8 when he has more assists than turnovers, 4-7 when he has more turnovers or the same number as assists… Had Tech’s third-best success rate on threes, and was second on the team in threes attempted (110) … As a percentage of total shots taken, his 110 of 223 (49.3 pct,) was the highest of his career (39.4 pct. in first three years combined)… Scored a season-high 16 points against California in the DirecTV Classic, followed with 11 points and five assists against Saint Mary’s, 10 at Illinois and 12 against Georgia in consecutive games… Received an invitation to play in the Reese’s College All-Star Game at the 2013 Final Four.

Started Tech’s first 11 games, but came off the bench the rest of the season … Five double-figure efforts in ACC games, including 10 against Clemson, 13 at Virginia Tech, 13 at NC State in his last 6 conference games … Made a good start in ACC play, scoring 14 each against Boston College and the first meeting against Clemson (11-of-20 FG) … Averaged 6.6 ppg in ACC games … Tech’s 4th-leading scorer, 5th in minutes … 9 double figure games, same as his freshman season … Just 12 turnovers in his last 14 games … Zero turnovers 11 times during the season.

2009-10 – Game-by-Game Statistics

Started Tech’s first 25 games at the point, but moved to the bench Feb. 16 against North Carolina in favor of Glen Rice, Jr. … One of three primary ballhandlers the Jackets used along with Iman Shumpert and Moe Miller … Endured a difficult stretch offensively to finish the year, scoring just 31 points in his last 20 games and hitting just 11-of-48 shots from the floor … Did not score in the ACC Tournament.

Reached double digits in three ACC games, averaging 3.9 ppg while hitting 12-of-34 threes (35.3 pct.) … Made just two threes in nine attempts after Jan. 24 … Last scored in double digits against Duke on Jan. 9 (13) and Virginia (10) back-to-back … Up through the Virginia game, had scored in double digits nine times … Averaged 11.4 points through the end of December, 3.0 per game after.
