Versatile offensive performer and an underrated defender who has received all-ACC honors three times at Tech (2nd team all-ACC as a junior, 3rd team as a sophomore, all-freshman as a freshman) … Hamstring injury forced him to miss nine conference games as a senior and never was 100 percent even after he returned … Good perimeter shooter who can also create off the dribble and post-up defenders … A capable ballhandler who occasionally ran the point if needed early in his career.
Finished his career with 1,616 points, which put him at No. 13 on Tech’s career chart … Also finished fourth in three-point field goals (222).
2004-05
A pre-season candidate for the Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy, he missed Tech’s first nine ACC games with a strained left hamstring suffered in the first half of Tech’s Jan. 1 game at Kansas … Returned Feb. 8 at Clemson, and averaged 12.1 points per game while shooting 37.1 percent from the floor and 30.3 percent from three-point range in the 12 games since … Reached double figures seven times, 20 or more twice.
Scored 19 points with three assists, hitting 8-of-14 shots from the floor and 1-of-3 from three-point range, in Tech’s ACC Tournament quarterfinal win over Virginia Tech, and averaged 10.0 points (32.4 pct. FG, 2-9 3FG) for the entire tournament … Scored 15 against George Washington in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but just three in Tech’s loss to Louisville in the second round.
Finished the regular season by averaging 18 points in the last three contests (15 at Miami, 22 at Wake Forest, 17 vs. Clemson), hitting 43.8 percent from the floor and 35.7 percent from three-point range … Hit a trio of threes to lift Tech past the Hurricanes, then made six (one off his career high) in 11 attempts against the Demon Deacons.
Had a breakout game in Tech’s win at FSU on 2/20, scoring 16 of Tech’s first 30 points (including four threes) and finishing with 22 … Dropped two free throws with 0.4 seconds showing for the win, and finished the game 8-16 from the floor, 4-8 from three.
In his first game back at Clemson, scored 11 points (4-8 FG, 2-2 FT) to help Tech to its first ACC road win of the season … Hit his only three to give the Jackets their first lead with 9:43 left.
Was the ACC’s 21st-leading scorer (13.2 ppg) at the time of his injury, and after a slow start, was shooting 43.2 percent from the floor … Ranked eighth in the ACC in three-point field goals per game (2.09) and was shooting 38.3 percent from that distance, the second-best rate of his career.
Took nearly 50 percent of his field goal attempts from behind the three-point line and went to the foul line less … In his first three seasons, only 42.7 percent of his total attempts were threes … Finished his career with more threes (222) than free throws made (220), and more threes than free throws each year of his career except his junior season, when he hit a career-high 77 threes, but also a career-high 103 free throws (78 percent).
Began the season by averaging 20.2 points over his first five games, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 43.9 percent from three-point range.
Went lights-out against Michigan on Nov. 30, making 10 of 12 shots from the floor, a career-best 83.3 percent for a single game, and scored a season-high 27 points in Tech’s 99-68 victory … Matched a career best with seven three-point field goals in nine attempts, continually finding open spots on the floor against the Wolverines’ man and zone defenses … Scored a game-high 19 points against Georgia, making 8 of 14 shots from the floor and 2 of 6 from three-point range.
The key figure in Tech’s one-point win at Illinois-Chicago, making three three-point field goals in the last 10 minutes, which proved to be the Yellow Jackets’ only field goals in that span, and scored 17 points … In Tech’s next game against Arkansas-Little Rock, he scored 23 points while making 8-of-18 shots from the floor and 4-of-8 from three-point range.
2003-04
Named to the second-team All-ACC after making the third team as a sophomore … Honorable mention all-American by the Associated Press … Also named All-District 4 by the USBWA, All-District 5 by the NABC and one of the final 20 candidates for the Wooden Award All-America team.
ACC’s seventh-leading scorer at 14.9 points a game … Ranked ninth in the ACC in field goal percentage (.421) and three-point percentage (37.9 pct.), sixth in three-pointers per game (2.06) and 10th in free throw percentage (78.1 pct.) … Was averaging 17.8 points in the ACC and NCAA Tournaments combined before sustaining a sprained right ankle against Nevada.
In the NCAA Tournament: Limited to just 15 minutes in Tech’s two games in the St. Louis Regional after spraining his right ankle just two minutes into the Nevada game … Played three minutes in that contest, and then started the next game against Kansas but managed just 12 minutes … Did not score in either game, but had an offensive rebound and an assist against the Jayhawks.
Recovered enough to play 19 minutes against Oklahoma State, but scored just two points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3 FG) … Scored 14 points (4-15 FG, 3-8 3FG) in 28 minutes in the national championship game against Connecticut.
Scored 12 points against Northern Iowa and 18 against Boston College during the first weekend of the tournament … Made a key play late in the win over UNI as he rebounded his own missed three-pointer and drove the lane for a short jumper that put Tech ahead by four with 1:06 left … Shot 50 percent (6-12) from three-point range in the two games.
Averaged 20.5 points in Tech’s two ACC Tournament games, including 25 points versus Duke, and was named to the All-ACC Tournament second team.
Before injuring his ankle against Nevada, he was on the best stretch of his career, scoring in double figures in 13 straight games, including five 20-point efforts … Scored 20 points at Tennessee on Feb. 7, 30 vs. North Carolina on Feb. 10, 22 at Virginia on Feb. 14, 27 vs. Wake Forest Feb. 22 and 25 vs. Duke in the ACC Tournament … Shot 46.5 percent from the floor (79-of-170) and 45.6 percent (36-of-79) from three-point range during that stretch.

Scored 30 points twice in a two-week period, including 30 against the North Carolina (Feb. 10), 24 of them in a second-half scoring duel with UNC’s Rashad McCants, who scored 31 in the game … Made 7 of 12 three-pointers in the game, including five straight in one second-half stretch … Helped seal the win by making 5 of 6 free throws.
Scored a career-high 36 points against Clemson (Jan. 27), 11 more than his previous best of 25 … Made a career-best 12 shots in 20 attempts, and went 6-of-10 from three-point range and 6-of-7 from the foul line … It was the highest scoring game by an ACC player all season and one point off the Tech record for an ACC game.

Missed double figures in just four games prior to his ankle injury, and Tech was 2-2 in those games … Scored 20 or more eight times during the season, including 25 at Georgia and 22 in the first meeting against Connecticut.
Averaged 15.1 points per game against the 15 Top 25 teams Tech faced during the season, 16.2 in the 12 such games prior to his ankle injury … Scored 22 points against No. 1 Connecticut and 16 against No. 25 Texas Tech in November, which earned him all-tournament honors in the Preseason NIT … Averaged 18.8 points against the eight ranked teams the Yellow Jackets played last year.

Made the game-winning shot against Iowa with one second left on a middle drive into the lane off an in-bounds play … Scored eight points (4-13 FG, 0-3 3FG) against the Hawkeyes … NIT averages: 10.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 38.1% FG, 25.0% 3FG. Scored 12 points (4-8 FG, 2-5 3FG) against Ohio State in the first round … Scored 23 points, one off his season high, against Texas Tech in a quarterfinal loss (9-17 FG, 4-8 3FG, 4 assists).

Reached double figures in 25 of the 30 games he played after missing the opener with a sore foot (season low of 6 vs. Virginia and Duke).
Began the season by hitting at least one three-pointer in 17 straight games, extending his career-long streak to 21 games, before going three-less against Clemson on Feb. 5 … Did not make a three in six of Tech’s final 13 games of the season (17-of-55, 30.9 pct.), however.
Dished out a season-high seven assists against Troy State on Dec. 17 (scored 25) … Also had six at Virginia Mar. 5 to go with 10 points … Had four or more in eight other games.
2001-02
Made the ACC’s All-Freshman team and was the third-leading vote-getter for the Rookie of the Year honor, which went to teammate Ed Nelson … Finished as the league’s second-leading scorer among freshmen (9.9, tied for 29th overall) and was tied for third in steals . . . Averaged 10.9 points against conference foes and shot 40.7 percent from three-point range and 83.3 percent from the free throw line.
Tech’s third-leading scorer overall . . . Shot 36.0 percent from three-point range overall and 78.7 percent from the line.
Turned red-hot in Georgia Tech’s last three regular-season games, scoring 18 points at Virginia and 25 against Wake Forest to help the Yellow Jackets to a pair of victories over ranked teams, then adding 10 at Florida State . . . Scored 11 points in Tech’s ACC Tournament loss to Wake Forest, making it four straight double-digit games to finish the season . . . Made 20 of 39 field goals, 12-of-23 from three-point range and 12-of-13 from the free throw line in those four games . . . Scored in double figures 13 times in Georgia Tech’s last 21 games.
Poured in 25 points in Tech’s final home game against Wake Forest, 23 of them in the second half as Tech came away with the 90-77 win . . . Hit 7-of-10 field goals, 4-of-6 from three-point range, and 7-of-7 from the free throw line to key the victory . . . His point total was the highest for an ACC freshman in the ACC this season.
Scored 19 points in just 16 minutes in Tech’s 74-50 win at Clemson . . . Made one of the key plays in Tech’s 82-80 come-from-behind win at Virginia . . . With Tech trailing by six, hit a three-pointer with 45 seconds left to pull the Jackets within three points and set the stage for the last-second victory . . . Finished the game with 18 points and four assists in just 25 minutes, hitting four three-pointers on eight attempts . . . Contributed eight points, four rebounds and two steals in Tech’s 65-59 victory over NC State.
Was named the ACC Rookie of the Week each of the last two weeks of the regular season.
Since joining the starting lineup on Jan. 22 against Virginia, he averaged 11.0 points and Tech went 8-5 in those games . . . Made 24-of-52 three-point attempts (46.2 percent) in those games.
Was first inserted into the starting lineup for Tech’s Jan. 10 game at Duke, and he responded with 10 points on 5-of-9 shooting with two assists before fouling out.
