THE FLATS – With the final two games of the Sand Dollar Classic canceled, Georgia Tech softball gets its third test of the season on Wednesday, Feb. 13 when it takes on cross-town rival Georgia State in Panthersville, Ga. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
The Jackets had a tough start on Friday, falling to Lipscomb in extra innings 1-0 before coming up short in a late rally against Florida A&M, 8-6. Senior pitcher Emily Anderson had a strong first outing against the Bison, pitching 7.2 innings and only getting the loss from an unearned run. Freshman outfielder Skye Webb had two hits, one in each of the contests.
The Jackets will face the Panthers for the 71st time since 1987. Tech leads the all-time series 47-23 but Georgia State owns the most recent victory, a 9-5 defeat in the 2017 season on The Flats.
