Georgia Tech linebacker Daryl Smith has been added to the South roster for Saturday’s Senior Bowl all-star game, in which he will join teammate and fellow linebacker Keyaron Fox.
The Senior Bowl is slated for Saturday at 5 p.m. ET at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, Ala., and will be televised on ESPN.
The South team will be coached by the staff of the San Diego Chargers.
For Smith, an honorable mention all-Atlantic Coast Conference selection from Albany, Ga., the Senior Bowl will be his second all-star game, following the East-West Shrine Game in San Francisco, Calif.
Smith and Fox, a first-team all-ACC honoree, keyed a Tech defense that led the conference and ranked 12th in the nation against the run, allowing just 110.5 yards per game. The pair combined for 284 tackles, 35 tackles for loss and six forced fumbles this season.
Smith finished the season with 129 tackles and 17 tackles for loss, while Fox led the ACC with 155 tackles, including 18 tackles behind the line of scrimmage.
Tech’s all-ACC center, Hugh Reilly, is also playing in two all-star games. After competing in last weekend’s Hula Bowl Maui, Reilly will also appear in The Villages Gridiron Classic on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 12 noon ET at The Villages Polo Stadium near Orlando, Fla. The game will be televised on ESPN.
