As a Junior (2023): Anchored the defense, starting all 53 games at shortstop … Led the ACC in sacrifice bunts at 0.18 per game … Ranked second on the squad in steals with 16 … Heralded for her range, was highlighted by NCAA Softball for an over-the-shoulder grab against Pitt (April 14) … Blasted her lone home run of the year and fifth of her career to open scoring in a 3-0 rubber match shutout of Pitt (April 16) … Went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases and three runs scored, all single-game career highs, in a 9-8 victory over Kent State (Feb. 25) … Batted .197 on the season, coming away with 23 hits, four doubles and a home run for 10 RBI and 20 runs scored … Drew 20 walks … Averaged a .312 on-base percentage along with a .256 slugging percentage … Finished with a .978 fielding percentage.
As a Sophomore (2022): Started at shortstop in all 56 games … Batted .287 on the season, coming away with 43 hits, nine doubles and a triple for 23 RBI, 37 runs and 54 total bases … Tied for the team lead in stolen bases (18) and runs scored … Third on the squad in doubles … Top five on the team in hits and RBI … Slugged .360 with a .386 on-base percentage … Named ACC Co-Player of the Week (April 26) after leading the way in the field and at the dish against Troy, Georgia State and Charlotte after batting .533, going 8-for-15 with a pair of doubles and RBI, seven runs scored, three walks and five stolen bases … Posted a .611 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage on that week … Put on a show defensively with 92 putouts and 87 assists, including nine double plays … Made two appearances on SportsCenter’s Top 10 and had three showings on the NCAA’s Top Five Plays of the Week … Came in at No. 4 on SportsCenter for a diving catch over the middle against No. 9 Duke in the ACC tournament and previously at No. 6 for another diving catch in shallow left behind third base in an 8-5 win over Saint Joseph’s (Feb. 12) … In the same game against the Hawks, made a leaping catch for an L6-4 double play and a spinning fire across her body for a groundout as the three plays combined topped NCAA softball’s opening weekend rankings … Made a barehand throw off a high chopper for third in the NCAA’s top plays in an 8-2 win over Charlotte (April 23) … Knocked her first career triple in a 5-2 victory over Kennesaw State (March 30) … Tallied a career-high three hits against Louisville (March 18) … 12 multi-hit games on the season.
As a Freshman (2021): Started all 46 games at shortstop … One of two Jackets to start every game on the season … Batted .216 on the year with 25 hits, two double and four homeruns for 11 RBI and 24 runs … Posted a .336 slugging percentage and a .308 on-base percentage, also swiping a team-high 12 bags … Turned one of eight triple plays across the country this season nearly singlehandedly (L6-6U-6-3) … Had at least a hit in 20 games, including five multi-hit games … Hit a three-run bomb for her first career homerun and a season-high three RBI in a 10-2 win over Boise State (Feb. 12) … Went a perfect 2-for-2 along with two walks and a stolen base in an 11-10 win over Pitt (March 12) … Hit dingers in a 10-1 win over Middle Tennessee (2-for-3, March 26), a 12-2 win over Louisville (1-for-1, April 11) and a 4-2 win over Troy (1-for-3, April 21).
High School: Hailing from Dacula. Ga., Jin Sileo arrives on The Flats by way of Dacula High School. She lettered at Dacula for four seasons as a middle infielder, serving as team captain for two. The lefty bat led Dacula for three region championship titles (2016, 2017 and 2019) and a third-place finish in the state tournament in 2019. Sileo back-to-back Region Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019. She was also a four-time all-county, all-region and all-state honoree. She set or tied eight career Dacula HS records and six season records. Her career records include for hits, doubles, triples, home runs and RBIs.
