As a Redshirt Junior (2011): Appeared in 15 games starting one … Notched a .188 batting average tallying three hits on the year while walking twice … Went 2-for-3 vs. Pittsburgh (Feb. 19) … Went 1-for-1 on a pinch hit against Belmont (March 13).
As a Junior (2010): Hit by a pitch in her first game of the season against Northwestern (Feb. 19) breaking her arm and missed the remainder of the season…Granted a medical redshirt.
As a Sophomore (2009): Saw action in 41 games, making 10 starts … One of the main pinch hitting threats off the bench … Hit .204 with six runs scored, two home runs and 11 RBI … Drew seven walks and was also hit by a pitch eight times … Recorded a .391 on-base percentage … Tallied her first career hit with a single at Furman (Feb. 8) … First career home run was a pinch-hit grand slam against Florida Atlantic (Feb. 13) … Had a pinch-hit, two-run single at Virginia Tech (March 22) … Went 1-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBI at Virginia (April 18) … Delivered a walk-off, RBI single in an extra-inning win over North Carolina (April 25) … Had a pinch-hit, RBI single against Virginia in the first round of the ACC Tournament (May 8) … Started both games of the Super Regional against Washington (May 23-24) and had a single.
As a Freshman (2008): Appeared in 12 games, making one start … Was 0-for-9 with a RBI and a walk … Had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage … Made first collegiate appearance as a pinch hitter against New Mexico (Feb. 16) … Made first career start as the designated player in the second game of the Tennessee Tech doubleheader (March 18) … Tallied first collegiate RBI with a bases loaded walk against Boston College (April 19).
High School: Four-year letterwinner in softball under Coach Brad Thompson … Finished senior season batting .493 with a .605 on-base percentage and a .667 slugging percentage … Had 10 doubles and 24 RBI … Three-time first-team all-region and first-team all-state as a senior … Also named a state finalist for the Wendy[apos]s High School Heisman award as a senior … Other senior year accolades included GACA South All-Star team, Coca-Cola Athlete Award (the senior athlete with the most varsity letters), Salutatorian, Georgia Tech President[apos]s Scholarship and voted the Most Athletic by her classmates … Also lettered in swimming and soccer … School activities included Beta Club, National Honor Society, FCA, Student Government, Class President and editor in chief of the school yearbook.
Personal: Born Laura Caroline Hilton on March 4, 1989, in Vidalia, Ga. … Parents are Rob and Karen Hilton … Has one older sister, Sarah and one younger sister, Bekah … Sarah graduated from Georgia Tech in 2008 with a degree in industrial engineering … father also graduated from Georgia Tech with a Nuclear Engineering degree in 1980 … Aerospace Engineering major.
