BOISE, Idaho – Georgia Tech’s last full-day in Boise was spent fine tuning the game plan for tomorrow’s Humanitarian Bowl at Bronco Stadium against Tulsa, along with some final team bowl events. The Yellow Jackets went through a final walk through this afternoon, and met for a featured pep rally tonight near their downtown hotel.

The Jackets will get a 6 a.m. wake up call on Saturday. Toe meets leather at 10:04 a.m.

CURRY RECEIVED HUMANITARIAN AWARD

Junior wide receiver Nate Curry was presented the Humanitarian Award last night at the H-Bowl banquet downtown. Curry was nominated by the Tech coaching staff for his off the field efforts with young children and participation with various charities throughout metro Atlanta. Tulsa QB James Kilian was the recipient for the Golden Hurricane.

JACKETS VISIT HOSPITAL AND RONALD McDONALD HOUSE

Both Tech and Tulsa visited local hospitals and the Boise Ronald McDonald House this morning. Coach Chan Gailey and seniors Hugh Reilly, J.P. Foschi, Key Fox, Jonathan Smith, among others, led the Tech delegation. H-Bowl executive director Gary Beck said earlier in the week that the visit with children in the community is part of the “Humanitarian Bowl tradition.”

“YELLOW JACKET COUNTDOWN WITH DAVE BRAINE”…BEFORE SUNRISE

Our radio pre-game begins here at 8 a.m. Boise time (10 a.m. eastern), which means that our pre-game show will begin before the sun rises. Local sunrise time on Saturday is approximately 8:15. Scheduled to join us tomorrow for the one-hour show is Tulsa radio voice Bruce Howard, Boise State head coach Dan Hawkins and Chad Crippe of the Idaho Statesman, who earlier this week wrote a very detailed article about the future of the H-Bowl.

TELEVISION DOUBLE-DIP ON SATURDAY MORNING

Tech fans in Atlanta tomorrow morning can enjoy a full-hour of Tech basketball and football. Fox 5 (WAGA-TV) television will be carrying Paul Hewitt’s weekly television show at 11 a.m., followed at 11:30 a.m. by a special Humanitarian Bowl preview with head coach Chan Gailey.

A NOTE OF THANKS…

Thanks to assistant sports information director Chris Capo and Rob Skinner of the Homer Rice Center for their efforts this week in helping us produce “Postcards From Boise.”
