– Georgia Tech Head Coach Paul Hewitt
On dealing with the fans
“The fans have been great, that’s the one thing that has been consistent. There are other areas where some cheap shots have been taken. When I walk through the airports and go out to dinner with my family, you would really be shocked how this stuff has turned and now everybody goes out of their way to say, `Hey coach, we respect what you are doing.'”
On being a lock for the NCAAs
“We are trying to win the ACC Tournament. We’ve got a chance to make ourselves a lock tomorrow and that is the mindset we have right now.
On officials not deciding the game
“I asked a couple of the officials if this was how it was going to play. They gave me the right answer; we are going to let the kids decide the game. It is a chance to go to the ACC championship. I told my team the officials just told me you guys are going to decide the game, they aren’t going to take it upon themselves. I think hearing that, that made them play a little more aggressive.”
Junior Forward Gani Lawal
On playing against Duke for the third time this year
“Duke is a great team, a very talented team but we feel like going into this game we are worried about what we do. Not to be cocky or arrogant, we feel like if we establish ourselves inside out like we did at Tech, we will have some good results.
Senior Guard D’Andre Bell
On the fatigue factor of playing four games in four days
“What fatigue? It doesn’t exist in this game.”
