Person Leads Tech at Indoor Track and Field Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Junior Montrell Person led the Yellow Jackets at the 2004 Indoor Track and Field Championships this afternoon with a 12th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles. Person posted a time of 7.80, while freshman Ashlee Kidd finished 16th in the 400 meters with a time of 54.67.

Sophomore All-American Chaunte Howard will compete at the NCAA meet in the women’s high jump on Saturday, March 13, at 4:45 p.m. Howard currently holds the nation’s top mark with a school record clear of 6’02.75″.

Junior Shanta Smith will participate in the women’s triple jump tomorrow at 4:10 p.m. Smith broke the school record in the event at the Clemson Opener with a personal-record mark of 43’04.50″.
