Paul Hewitt Golf Tournament Set for Aug. 24

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech head basketball coach Paul Hewitt will host the third Paul Hewitt Golf Classic on Tuesday, August 24, at Chateau ?lan in Braselton, Ga.

Proceeds from the charity golf tournament will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta in DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties. The schedule for the event begins with lunch and registration at 11:00 am with a shotgun start at 1:00 PM on the Legends, Woodland, and Chateau courses.

In conjunction with the golf tournament, there will be a live and silent auction. A portion of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in the name of the late Tech basketball player Michael Isenhour.

Entries for the Paul Hewitt Classic must be received no later than Tuesday, August 17, 2004. Please make your checks payable to “Boys & Girls Clubs” and mail along with entry form to:

Those interested in the cause but unable to play golf are encouraged to make a financial contribution to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta. All donations are tax deductible.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta operates 21 year-round Clubs in 11 metro counties in addition to Camp Kiwanis and Youth Art Connection, a gallery and workspace for young artists. A trained and professional staff serves more than 26,000 youth annually by offering specialized programming and a safe haven for at-risk and underprivileged children and teens. Clubs are located in communities with the greatest need where similar services are limited or nonexistent. The cost of providing services to a member for a year is $857, but in order to serve effectively those who need us most, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta asks families to pay annual membership dues of only $25 per child; and no child is turned away due to inability to pay.
