THE FLATS – Georgia Tech’s Coach Herb McAuley Aquatic Center will be the home of the USA Olympic Diving Team from July 19-23 and host the teams’ official send-off to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
Located on the west side of campus, The facility was the site of all swimming, diving and synchronized swimming competition as well as the swimming portion of the modern pentathlon during the Centennial Olympic Games in the summer of 1996. This month’s Olympic send-off for USA Diving coincides with the 20th anniversary of the 1996 games.
The official send-off for the Olympic Team will feature autograph sessions, open practices and media opportunities. Members of the 1996 Olympic Diving Team will join current Team USA members for the festivities. The send-off marks the team’s final public appearance on U.S. soil before it travels to Rio to compete in the Olympics.
All sessions are open to the public. USA Diving will provide memorabilia for autographs.

Wednesday, July 20
– Water Training Practice Session: 10:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m. – Water Training Practice Session: 4:00 p.m. –5:30 p.m. *will feature ‘Dive-in’ educational session hosted by Cynthia Potter and Greg Louganis – Autograph Session (H20 Café): 5:30 p.m. –6:30 p.m.
Friday, July 22 – Water Training Practice Session: 2:30 p.m. –4:00 p.m.
Saturday, July 23 – Autograph Session (H20 Café): 8:30 a.m. –9:30 a.m. – Water Training Practice Session: 10:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m.
