ATLANTA – The 12th-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will conclude the regular season this weekend with matches against No. 16 Wake Forest Saturday and No. 36 NC State Sunday. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 12 noon at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. Livestats for all Georgia Tech matches are available at www.ramblinwreck.com.
The Jackets enter the match with a 16-5 record on the year, including a 7-2 mark in conference play. Tech is one of seven women’s tennis teams ranked in the top-25 this week.
Tech will be looking for its sixth win in the series with Wake Forest (12-6, 5-4 ACC), as the Demon Deacons hold the series lead 20-5. The Jackets have been the more successful team of late however, winning the last three matches between the two schools.
Sunday’s match will be Tech’s last regular season match at the Bill Moore Tennis Center, and the Yellow Jackets will honor its three seniors, Kelly Anderson, Kacie Anson and Lyndsay Shosho, prior to the beginning of the match.
The Jackets lead the series with Sunday’s opponents, holding a 15-12 edge against the Wolfpack. Tech is also on an eight-match winning streak against NC State, dating back to the 1999 season.
Following this weekend’s matches, the Jackets will travel to Cary, N.C. to begin ACC Tournament play Thursday.
