Muyres Named ACC Defensive Back of the Week

Nov. 4, 2002

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech senior Jeremy Muyres (Stone Mountain, Ga.) was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Defensive Back of the Week following Tech’s 24-17 win over No. 8 NC State last Saturday in Raleigh.

For the second straight week, Muyres made a game-saving interception to preserve a Yellow Jacket victory. He also had a game saving interception the week prior in a 23-15 win over Virginia.

In Tech’s 24-17 road win over NC State, Muyres also had six tackles. The free safety keyed an outstanding performance by the Tech defense which held a Wolfpack offense that was averaging 40.9 points per game to just 17 points.
