Muguruza Advances to the Quarterfinals at ITA South Regional Championship

Chapel Hill, N.C. – Jose Luis Muguruza advanced to the quarterfinals at the ITA South Regional Championship in Chapel Hill, N.C. Muguruza, the ninth seed, defeated conference foe and fifth seeded Derrick Spice of Wake Forest to advance to the quarters on Sunday.

On Saturday, Muguruza defeated seventh seed Marko Miklo of Virginia and fifth seed Derrick Spice of Wake Forest to advance to the quarterfinals. Muguruza played two hard fought matches winning both in three sets.

In doubles action, ninth seeded duo David North and Zachary Rath took on the eighth seeded Clemson tandem of Nathan Thompson and Brett Twente. The pair took a 8-4 victory to advance to the quarterfinals on Sunday.
