Georgia Tech’s Lynnette Moster and Florida State’s Kristen Rust were named this week’s Atlantic Coast Conference Volleyball Co-Players of the Week.
Moster, a product of Liberty, Ind., helped the Yellow Jackets to wins over Virginia and Maryland. The senior outside hitter recorded a season-high 29 kills and 15 digs in Georgia Tech’s 3-1 decision over the Cavaliers. She also tallied five blocks in the match, including three solo stops. In Tech’s 3-0 win over Maryland, Moster recorded a season-high 18 digs and 13 kills. Moster averaged 6.0 kills, 4.71 digs and 0.71 blocks, while hitting .319 over the Jackets’ two victories.
Rust, a junior from Cincinnati, Ohio, began the week by hitting .417 in a 3-0 win over UCF. She notched 13 kills, six blocks, six digs and two service aces in the victory. The outside hitter then helped the Seminoles to wins over North Carolina and NC State over the weekend. In Florida State’s 3-1 win over the Tar Heels, she tallied a personal-best 29 kills and 20 digs. Versus the Wolfpack, Rust recorded ten kills, six digs and a career-high four service aces. Over the three wins, Rust averaged 5.2 kills, 3.2 digs, 1.0 block and 0.70 service aces per game, while hitting .340 overall and .316 in conference action.
This marks the seventh time in Moster’s career that she has earned the award and is the fourth consecutive week that a player from Georgia Tech has been named ACC Player of the Week.
