Miller, Bennett Named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week

ATLANTA – Men’s basketball point guard Maurice Miller and women’s basketball guard Mo Bennett have been named Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, Nov. 17, 2008.

Miller, a sophomore from Memphis, Tenn., had 17 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds while guiding Tech to a 92-47 win over Winston-Salem State. Miller posted the first double-double of his career and was three rebounds away from a triple-double. He also had three steals and scored 12 points while going 5-for-8 from the floor in the second half against the Rams.

Bennett had eight points and seven rebounds in 73-49 win over Troy. The Statesboro, Ga. native, added 19 points and five rebounds in an 82-71 loss at No. 1 Connecticut. She connected on 5-of-8 (63%) shots from behind the arc on the weekend, including 3-of-4 against UConn. The freshman is second on the team in points per game averaging 13.5.
