The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team will host its annual tournament this Friday through Sunday at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. Admission is free and both singles and doubles will be played during the course of the tournament.

The tournament will feature 64 players from 14 colleges, including athletes from The University of Georgia, Tennesseee, Alabama, Nebraska, Vanderbilt and Auburn.

“This tournament always attracts great competition and is always tough,” said head coach Kenny Thorne. “We’ve had some very competitive tournaments in the past and whoever wins this year will have to put together a string of matches to be successful.”

Competing for the Yellow Jackets will be Zachary Rath, who owns a 6-2 record in singles action this fall, Scott Blackmon, Jordan Delass, and George Gvelesiani. In doubles action, Rath and Blackmon, who reached the finals of the Southern Intercollegiates two weeks ago, will pair together while Delass and Gvelesiani will also compete in the tournament.

“We’ve got a good group playing for us this weekend and I know they are looking forward to playing in a tournament here in Atlanta in front of their friends and family,” said Thorne.

The tournament will begin Friday morning with singles action beginning at 8 a.m. Results will be updated at the conclusion of the day’s play at www.ramblinwreck.com.
