Atlanta – The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team gets set to face No. 20 Clemson in their first Atlantic Coast Conference road test of the season. The Tigers and Jackets will take the court at 2:30 Wednesday at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center on the Clemson University campus.
Tech trails in the all-time series with Clemson, 13-26, and hasn’t earned a road win over the Tigers since March 21, 2001. The teams last met on March 8, when Clemson defeated Tech, 6-1, in Atlanta.
The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 4-3 upset of tenth-ranked Florida State Sunday where, once again, freshman Luke Rassow-Kantor clinched the match with a three-set victory in the fifth singles spot. Rassow-Kantor’s win marks the second time this season he clinched a win for the Jackets.
Clemson is 12-3 overall and 1-0 in the ACC while Tech is 4-5 overall and is also 1-0 in conference play.
Georgia Tech’s next home match is Friday, March 9 at 2:30 against Furman. The Jackets are expected to play on the outdoor courts of the Bill Moore Tennis Center for the first time this season.
