Men’s Tennis Begins Season at USTA College Invitational

THE FLATS –  Georgia Tech men’s tennis travels to Nassau, Bahamas for the USTA College Invitational Sept. 21-23 to begin its fall slate.

The Jackets will face off against Auburn and Michigan in a compass draw format. Tech was scheduled to participate in the tournament last season, but the inaugural event was canceled due to hurricanes.

The team returns five letterwinners from last season and welcomes two newcomers in Joseph Gandolfo and Cole Gromley.

Leading the Jackets are Phillip Gresk and Andrew Li who return for their senior campaigns on The Flats. Individually, Gresk went 14-18 overall last season, while Li recorded an 8-13 mark. The duo also boasted a 9-6 record in doubles at the No. 3 spot

Tech takes on Auburn after defeating the Tigers last season 6-1 and a 29-18 advantage in the all-time series. The Jackets will also go head-to-head with Michigan for the first time since 1992. Although the Wolverines lead the all-time series 4-1, Tech took the last meeting, 5-4.

The full 2018-19 schedule can be found here.
