THE FLATS – Georgia Tech swimming qualified four swimmers from the men’s team to compete in the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship from March 23-26, hosted at McAuley Aquatic Center.
Tech will send Berke Saka, Caio Pumputis, Christian Ferraro and Mert Kilavuz to the NCAA Championships to compete in individual events.
Saka will compete in the 200 IM (3/24), 100 back (3/25) and 200 back (3/26) at the meet. Saka has the 27th, 25th and 19th best times respectively, in those events.
Pumputis is set to swim in the 200 IM (3/24), 100 breast (3/25) and 200 breast (3/26). Pumputis has the 36th, 17th and 15th fastest times, respectively, in those events.
Ferraro qualified in the 50 free (3/24), 100 fly (3/25) and 200 fly (3/26). Ferraro has posted the 47th, 35th and ninth best times, respectively, in those events.
The final individual qualifier for the Jackets is Kilavuz, who qualified in the 500 free (3/24) and 1650 free (3/26). Kilavuz owns the 35th and 14th fastest times, respectively, in those events.
Four more swimmers will participate in the four qualified Georgia Tech relays. The relay swimmers are Austin Daniel, Batur Ünlü, Clark Wakeland and Daniel Kertesz. They will fill in slots for the four qualified Yellow Jacket relays. Those relays are the 200 medley relay (3/23), 800 free relay (3/23), 200 free relay (3/24) and 400 medley relay (3/25).
Before the Men’s Championships, the White and Gold will participate in the Women’s NCAA swimming and diving championships, also hosted at McAuley Aquatic Center from March 16-19.
