Makinson Competes In Day One Of NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – On his first day of competition at the NCAA Championships, sophomore Brandon Makinson took 35th place in the one-meter dive at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Makinson tallied a score of 251.85 while competing in his first ever NCAA Championships.

David Boudia of Purdue took home the victory in the competition with a score of 461.00. Boudia currently holds the Championship (468.65) and Pool (467.40) record in the one-meter dive.

Nick McCrory of Duke was the lone ACC competitor in the A-Final, finishing in fourth place with a score of 411.50.

Makinson will be back in action tomorrow, Friday, March 25 with the three-meter dive.
