ROME, Italy – Georgia Tech swimming & diving had four swimmers in Christian Ferraro, Caio Pumputis, Tim Slanschek and recent 2018 graduate Moises Loschi all compete in international action this weekend at the 2018 Sette Colli event on June 29-July 1 in Rome, Italy.
Loschi recorded a sixth-place finish in the men’s 200 breaststroke, as he posted an A finals time of 2:12.37 after making the A final with a preliminaries time of 2:13.01.
The 2018 Tech graduate also turned in a time of time of 1:02.17 in the 100 breast preliminaries to advance to the B finals where he touched the wall in third-place overall with a finals time of 1:01.72, placing 11th overall for the event. In the 50 breast, Loschi won his preliminary heat with a time of 28.65 to place 24th overall.
Ferraro posted a pair of top-16 finishes for the meet. He recorded a B finals time of 2:00.20 in the 200 fly to place third in the heat and 11th overall for the event. He also turned in a B finals time of 53.48 in the 100 fly to finish 15th overall. In the 50 fly, he tied for 30th overall with a time of 24.78 in the prelims.
Pumputis competed in four events over the three-day event highlighted by an overall 12th-place finish in the 200 IM with a B finals time of 2:03.67. He also placed 19th overall in the 400 IM (4:34.82), 23rd overall in the 200 breast (2:20.00) and 44th in the 100 breast (1:04.98).
Slanschek placed 23rd overall in the 200 fly (2:05.58), 34th in the 200 IM (2:09.50) and 54th in the 100 fly (56.58) at the three-day event.
