Georgia Tech’s sophomore wide receiver Calvin Johnson was named to the Rivals.com preseason all-America first team, while sophomore placekicker Travis Bell was tabbed to the second team.

Both players made the Rivals.com Freshman All-America team last fall.

Johnson, the 6-4, 225-pounder from Tyrone, Ga., was named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Year and first-team all-ACC in 2004, when he set Tech freshman records with 48 catches for 837 yards and seven touchdowns.

Bell, from Roswell, Ga., made the all-ACC second team after connecting on 15-of-17 field goals and 31-of-31 extra points.

The Yellow Jackets begin practice Saturday.
