ATLANTA (Nov. 1) — Offensive guard Jason Burks helped seventh-ranked Georgia Tech to a 48-21 victory over NC State as he paved the way for 513 yards of offense. The Yellow Jackets gained 266 yards rushing despite playing without their top two tailbacks. Third-team tailback Sean Gregory, now the starter, rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown on 22 carries, and his backup Sidney Ford, a true freshman playing for the first time, added 49 yards and a touchdown on nine carries. Tech leads the ACC and ranks 11th nationally in rushing.
Burks, a senior from Vinemont, Ala., graded 88 percent and allowed no sacks or pressures.
