THE FLATS – Georgia Tech football’s Nov. 19 game at North Carolina will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and be televised nationally on ESPN2, the Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners announced on Monday.
The meeting will be the 57th all-time between the longtime ACC rivals. Georgia Tech holds a 31-22-3 advantage in the series, including wins in three of the last four matchups. Tech is making its first trip to UNC since 2018 (a 38-28 Yellow Jackets win), as the 2020 contest between the teams was wiped out due to schedule modifications caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Before Georgia Tech (4-5, 3-3 ACC) travels to North Carolina, the Yellow Jackets host Miami (Fla.) for their 2022 home finale on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Tickets for the Tech-Miami showdown are still available and can be purchased online by clicking HERE. As part of a special Heroes Day ticket offer, all tickets purchased using the link above include an exclusive Georgia Tech Heroes Day hat, which features the GT logo and American flag.
Competitive Drive Initiative
In a unified endeavor, Georgia Tech, the Georgia Tech Foundation, Georgia Tech athletics and the Alexander-Tharpe Fund have come together to accelerate funding for student-athlete scholarships with the launch of the Competitive Drive Initiative. The initiative kicks off with the Accelerate GT Match Program, where any new gift to the A-T Fund’s Athletic Scholarship Fund made through Dec. 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Georgia Tech Foundation, up to $2.5 million. Should Accelerate GT reach its $2.5 million fundraising goal, the matching gift would result in a $5 million impact for Georgia Tech athletics.
