Jackets Ninth after Day One of Men's ACC Swimming Championships

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The 200-yard medley relay team of Jason Bourgeois, Alex Williams, Ofer Finkler and Mauricio Sousa finished ninth with a season-best time of 1:30.85 to lead Georgia Tech at the Men’s Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming Championships on Wednesday night in the Koury Natatorium.

Eight-time defending ACC champion Virginia and Florida State are tied at the top with 74 points, followed by Clemson, North Carolina and Virginia Tech with 60 points, Maryland and NC State with 50 points, Duke with 40 points, Georgia Tech with 22 points and Boston College with 18 points.

The 800 freestyle relay team of Noah Copeland, Ryan Bishop, Ryan Crete and Onur Uras were disqualified for an early start on the final exchange.

The ACC meet will continue on Thursday with preliminaries beginning at 11 a.m., followed by finals at 7 p.m. The entire meet can be followed at www.ramblinwreck.com or watched at www.ACCSelect.com.
