>> Putting its six-game winning streak on the line, Georgia Tech welcomes No. 1/2 Florida State to Russ Chandler Stadium for an ACC showdown on the Flats.
>> The Yellow Jackets have won four of their last six versus teams ranked No. 1 in at least one poll, including a 5-4 win over FSU during the 2012 ACC Tournament en route to Tech’s eighth title. Tech was 3-2 last season versus No. 1-ranked teams.
>> Tech and FSU are second and third in the league in hitting, while the Jackets’ 342 hits and 12 triples pace the ACC. Three Jackets are in the ACC’s top 20 in hitting, with seven hitting .290+.
>> The Jackets’ bullpen totaled 11 innings of relief in the Duke sweep, recorded saves in each game and allowed just one run (0.82 ERA). Over Tech’s last 11 ACC games (7-4), the `pen has pitched to a 1.62 ERA and accounted for four wins and three saves.
>> Sophomore LF Matt Gonzalez went 6-for-7 this week with three doubles, a triple, four RBI and three runs. He is ninth in the ACC in average (.333) and leads the league in hits (45) and doubles (13). He’s also second in nation in outfield assists (seven).
