THE FLATS – On Friday, the Georgia Tech men’s tennis team (11-8, 2-3 ACC) fell 5-2 in a conference matchup against No. 11 North Carolina (13-5, 5-1 ACC).
It was tough fight between the two teams to decide who would claim the doubles point. Brandon McKinney and Elias Shokry’s 6-4 win over North Carolina’s Karl Poling and Will Jansen evened the score 1-1 after Tech’s loss on court one. Although Keshav Chopra and Rohan Sachdev challenged No. 54 Brian Cernoch and Benjamin Kittay, but they ultimately fell 7-5 and granted North Carolina the doubles point.
Tech earned two victories in singles play. No. 34 Andres Martin dominated North Carolina’s No. 47 Cernoch in a 6-4, 6-1 decision. No. 86 Chopra rallied back from a 3-6 loss in the first to take down North Carolina’s Will Jansen 6-2, 10-3 in the final two sets.
