Jackets Excel On Day Two At Zone Diving Championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Georgia Tech divers enjoyed another good day Tuesday at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championship at the University of Tennessee, as junior Ashley Hardy and freshman Shannon Lumbra collected top-14 finishes on the women’s 1-meter springboard.

Both Hardy and Lumbra qualified for Tuesday’s finals in the event, placing in the top-18 of the 38 divers in the prelims.

Hardy was 11th after the prelims with a score of 266.10 and Lumbra was 18th with a score of 251.75. Each improved their scores in the final round, as Hardy posted a 270.80 for a two-round score of 536.90, which was good for 11th place overall. Lumbra put up a score of 267.95 in the finals, and her total score of 519.70 was good for 14th place.

The Zone B Diving Championship concludes Wednesday with men’s and women’s platform diving.
