ATHENS, Ga.No. 16 Georgia Tech baseball dropped its first game of the season when it fell 7-2 to Georgia on Friday night at Foley Field, getting started after more than a two-hour delay due to weather.

At the plate, Tech was led by Jake DeLeo and Angelo Dispigna, who had two hits apiece with both of Dispigna’s being doubles. Joining DeLeo in the RBI column was Nicholas Romano on his lone hit, while John Giesler also finished with one hit.

On the mound, starter RHP Dawson Brown (1-1) received the loss, allowing seven runs on nine hits, many of which were tough-luck knocks, in 3.1 innings of work. In relief, RHP Jackson Vaughan settled the waters, tossing 3.2 innings scoreless, surrendering just one hit in the outing. LHP Noah Samol then had his best outing of his young career, allowing just one hit with a swinging strikeout in his inning of relief to close.
