Jackets Conclude Day One of Men's ACC Swimming Championships

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Georgia Tech 800-yard freestyle relay team of Noah Copeland, Ofer Finkler, Chris Ewald and Jason Howard clocked a NCAA ‘B’ standard time of 6:37.09, finishing in fifth place at the 2006 Men’s Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming Championships, in UMD’s Campus Recreation Center on Wednesday night.

Tech currently stands in seventh place after the first day of competition with 52 points. Virginia leads the meet with a total of 70 points.

The men’s 200 medley relay team of Jason Bourgeois, Alex Williams, Teemu Kettunen and Ryan Riebesell finished in seventh place with a season-best time of 1:30.62 to wrap-up competition on Wednesday.

The ACC meet will continue on Thursday with prelims at 12 Noon. The entire meet can be followed via live stats on Maryland’s Website.
