Important Parking & Traffic Information for Homecoming

Oct. 20, 2005

Homecoming Schedule and Information

Fans attending the Georgia Tech-Clemson football game on Saturday, Oct. 29 are reminded that the Insitute’s annual Homecoming festivities will impact parking and traffic on campus.

The Tech-Clemson game kicks off at 12 noon at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field and will be nationally televised on ESPN2.

The annual Rambling Wreck Parade will begin at 8 a.m. and is expected to run until approximately 10:30 a.m. Fowler Street will be closed from 10th Street (Alexander Memorial Coliseum) south to Fourth Street (Peter’s Parking Deck), and traffic on campus will be heavier than normal.

Because of the street closings, fans should observe the following routes to reach parking areas:

Peter’s Parking Deck:

Fans should access Peter’s Parking Deck via Atlantic Drive. Coming from Interstate 75-85, travel west on 10th Street to Atlantic Drive. Turn left onto Atlantic Drive. Cross Ferst Drive and continue on Atlantic (which will become Fourth Street) until reaching Peter’s Parking Deck.

Alexander Memorial Coliseum Lot:

Fans should access the AMC lot from 10th Street. Due to the parade, the south end of the lot, closest to Eighth Street, will not be available until after 10:30 a.m.

O’Keefe Lots:

Fans should access the O’Keefe Lots by taking Techwood Drive to Sixth Street. Cross Interstate 75-85 at Fifth Street and turn right onto Techwood Drive, which dead ends into Sixth Street. O’Keefe East is to the right, and O’Keefe West is to the left.
