Homza, Lumbra Impressive At Zone Diving Championship

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Freshman Bradley Homza was ninth on the 1-meter board and sophomore Shannon Lumbra was 11th on the 3-meter as the NCAA Zone B Diving Championship continued Tuesday in Greensboro, N.C.

Homza found himself 10th after prelims by posting a score of 313.30 on the 1-meter board. The rookie came back in the finals to score 329.40 points and move up one spot to claim a ninth-place finish.

Lumbra also improved her prelim standing, as the sophomore was in 12th place after the prelims with her score of 302.60. She scored an impressive 326.70 points in the finals to secure an 11th-place finish.

Senior Ashley Hardy just missed a spot in the finals by 0.8 points. She scored 276.80 in the prelims and finished in 19th place of the 43 competitors. Freshman Andrea Demick scored 227.10 points and was 38th.

Also on the 1-meter board, freshman Omar Eteiba was 28th with his score of 249.45.

Action concludes on Wednesday with both the men’s and women’s platform competition.
