GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech freshman diver Camryn Hidalgo has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Diver of the Week, the ACC announced today.
Last week, in the Yellow Jackets’ two dual meets at Notre Dame and Northwestern, Hidalgo claimed first-place honors in three of the four diving events and placed second in the other.
After sweeping the two diving events at No. 17 Notre Dame on Friday with scores of 296.18 in the 1-meter and 297.60 in the 3-meter springboard events, the first-year Jacket defeated 2016 NCAA Champion and all-American Olivia Rosendahl of Northwestern in the women’s 1-meter dive with a score of 301.65 on Saturday.
Her 1-meter dive score of 301.65 versus the Wildcats is top in the ACC for the women’s 1-meter dive this season and also ranks in the top-20 nationally.
Hidalgo and the Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday when they host Delta State University in a dual meet beginning at 11 a.m. ET at the McAuley Aquatic Center.
