Hannah Krimm 2nd On 1-Meter At Georgia Tech Diving Invitational

Nov. 22, 2008

ATLANTA – Junior Hannah Krimm placed second on the one-meter springboard on day two of action at the Georgia Tech Diving Invitational held at the GT Aquatic Center. Krimm just missed winning her second event of the weekend as she was 0.85 points behind first-place Katherine Adham from Florida State. Miami, Alabama and Auburn are also competing in the three-day meet.

“Once again, Hannah turned it on in the finals,” Tech Head Coach John Ames said. “This time, she fell short of first by less than a point, but it’s nice to see she can turn it on like that in the finals.”

For the second straight day, Krimm was in fifth place after the preliminary round. In yesterday’s three-meter event, she was able to pull out the win. Krimm scored 246.30 points in prelims today and 259.75 in finals.

Michele Bertolino finished 10th with 224.00 points today, missing the finals round by less than three points.

“Michele just missed making the finals for the second day in a row, but she continues to show improvement in many key areas,” Ames added.

On the men’s side, David Springfels finished 11th on the three-meter springboard. He had 247.45 points.

The Georgia Tech Diving Invitational wraps up tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. with the men’s and women’s platform events.
