Guthrie Wins Flight In Yellow Jacket Invitational

ATLANTA– In Sunday’s final day (Oct. 22) of women’s tennis action in the Yellow Jacket Inivtational, Georgia Tech senior Bobbi Guthrie grabbed the Flight B singles championship over her teammate Jaime Wong, 6-2, 6-2.

Other winners in Sunday’s singles play included Allida Gallovits of Florida State in Flight A over her teammate Christina Denny 6-4, 6-4. In Flight CSonja Prokopek of UCF took the championship 6-3, 6-0 over Iowa’s Jennifer Hodgman. Steffi Hoch of Iowa took the Flight D championship 6-3, 6-3.

Yellow Jacket sophomores Mysti Morris and Jaime Wong finished the three day tournament, held on Georgia Tech’s campus at the Bill Moore Tennis Center, with 3-1 records in singles play.

Georgia Tech women’s tennis will wrap up the fall tournament season with the ITA Region Championships November 3-6 in Mobile, Alabama
