GREENSBORO, N.C.– Nine Georgia Tech volleyball matches will broadcast on either the ACC Regional Sports Networks or online via ESPN3 as part of a record-setting fall Olympic sport package from the ACC. In all, 121 fall events, including 42 volleyball matches, will have broadcast coverage in 2014.
The nine home television/ESPN3 games are the most for Tech in a single regular-season, and two more than Tech played last season.
The first four Georgia Tech home matches will air on ESPN3, including Tech’s home opener against in-state rival Georgia on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. Matches against Alabama A&M (Sept. 20), Southern Miss (Sept. 20) and Kennesaw State (Sept. 23) round out the first wave of TV games for Tech.
Tech’s home ACC opener against Florida State on Oct. 3 will air on ESPN3, as will Tech’s Dig Pink match vs. Pitt (Oct. 17).
Georgia Tech takes on Syracuse (Oct. 24) on the ACC Regional Sports Networks with game time set at 8:30 p.m. in O’Keefe Gym. The Regional Sports Networks covers FOX Sports Carolinas, FOX Sports South, FOX Sports Florida, FOX Sports Indiana, Sun Sports, Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, NESN, YES, ROOT SPORTS and MSG.
Home matches against North Carolina (Oct. 26) and Clemson (Nov. 28) on ESPN3 round out Tech’s TV slate. All ESPN3 matches are also available on smartphones, tablets, Xbox and Apple TV via the WatchESPN app.
WREK, 91.1 FM in Atlanta, will broadcast all of Georgia Tech’s home matches. Veteran Kurt Hoyt will handle the play-by-play duties. Non-TV matches will be streamed live online on all-access via RamblinWreck.com.
Season tickets are now on sale for the 2014 season for just $45 for adults and $20 for youths (ages 18 and under) and seniors (ages 55 and older). Fans can order a season-ticket package online or by calling the ticket office at 404-894-5447.
