THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech swimming & diving team concluded the Georgia Tech Invitational on Saturday night, as the men finished 3rd and the women finished 5th. The Jackets will be swimming long course events tomorrow.

Junior Ben Southern led the way for the Jackets with a win in the men’s 200 butterfly final. The Falls Church, Va., native was able to edge Alabama’s Taylor Charles with a time of 1:45.84.

“I’m very proud of the team this weekend,” head coach Courtney Shealy Hart said. “I think we did a good job from start to finish. We did a good job of getting behind each other, supporting each other and racing hard. Obviously, we went up against some great competition. I’m looking forward to the long course tomorrow and seeing what we can do.”

The Jackets’ next meet will come against Cincinnati and Florida Atlantic on Dec. 18 in Naples, Fla.
