GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech’s Noah Harasz, Brad Homza, Yuval Safra and Iris Wang were named to the 2016 Swimming & Diving All-ACC Academic Team on Monday by the league office.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Harasz, a sophomore majoring in computer science, recorded top-10 times in school history in two individual events and all five relay events. He has a cumulative GPA of 3.47. Homza, a junior biology major, won gold in the platform event at the ACC Championships and was named Diver of the Meet by the league’s coaches. He also earned Honorable Mention All-American in the 1-meter and platform events. Homza had a GPA of 3.64 last fall.
Safra, a senior majoring in business administration, had the fastest times on the team in the 500 free, 1000 free and 200 back this season. He finished the fall semester with a 4.0 GPA and a cumulative GPA of 3.83.
Wang, a freshman majoring in industrial design, set the school record in the 100 and 200 free and was part of school record quartets in four relay events (400 free, 800 free, 200 medley, 400 medley). She had a GPA of 3.25 in her first semester on The Flats.
