Tulsa, Okla. – Georgia Tech’s Carlos Benito and Eduardo Segura lost a straight-set match in the opening round of the main doubles draw Thursday at the Saint Francis Health Systems ITA All-American Men’s Tennis Championships at the University of Tulsa.
Tech completed play in the national event when Benito and Segura, the nation’s 20th-ranked doubles team, fell 7-5, 7-6 (2) to Hugo Dojas and Felipe Soares of Texas Tech, who had survived three rounds of qualifying to reach the main draw. The Tech duo, ranked 20th in the nation, fell to 0-2 this fall.
The Yellow Jackets return to action the weekend of Oct. 16-19 at the USTA/ITA Southeast Regional in Athens, Ga.
