DURHAM, N.C. (March 25) — The Jackets fell to the 11th ranked Blue Devils of Duke (12-4, 3-0 ACC) 9-0 in women’s tennis action on Saturday in Durham, N.C. The loss dropped No. 27 Georgia Tech’s record to 10-4 (1-2 ACC).
The Blue Devils swept five singles matches in straight sets. The on ly Jacket to go three sets was Charlotte Pernet in the No. 5 spot. She eventually lost to Hillary Adams 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Jackets Sabrina Pardo and Bobbi Guthrie both lost to ranked opponents. Pardo was defeated by No. 21 Megan Miller in the No. 1 spot 6-2, 6-3. Guthrie lost to No. 30 Kathy Sell in the No. 2 spot 6-2, 6-3.
Georgia Tech will go down the road to Chapel Hill to take on the Tar Heels of North Carolina Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
