ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team concluded its play in the ITA Southern Region Championships, which is being held at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the University of Georgia’s campus in Athens.
Sixth-seeded Kelly Anderson earned the only win on the day for the Yellow Jackets when she defeated the No. 12 seed, Evgenia Subbatina from Georgia by a 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 score. She also went three sets in her next match, but fell to Florida State’s Anca Dumitrescu, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, who is the third seed in the tournament.
The tournament will conclude on Monday.
Georgia Tech will return to action next weekend as they travel to Nashville, Tenn. to participate in the Vanderbilt Invitational, which is set to begin on Oct. 24th.
