Georgia Tech Volleyball Team Cruises Past LSU
In front of a school record 1,853 fans, the Georgia Tech volleyball team defeated LSU (2-4) in three games, 30-24, 30-24, 30-22 on Sunday in the final match of the Georgia Tech classic. The Yellow Jackets (4-2) were led by Maja Pachale, who tallied a season-high 23 kills while hitting an impressive .600. Kyleen Bell added 11 kills and two block assists, while Lynnette Moster totaled 10 digs.
“This was the best home match atmosphere we have ever had here,” said head coach Shelton Collier. “We had a standing room only crowd, and an exciting atmosphere. I thought we had several bright spots today, but certainly still have some areas we can improve on. We are using these matches in preparation for success in the Atlantic Coast Conference.”
Georgia Tech finished as the runner-up in the Georgia Tech Classic, behind Colorado State (5-0). Pachale and Bell each earned all-tournament honors for the Yellow Jackets. The Yellow Jackets will return to the court Wednesday when they face Georgia State at 4 p.m. and Chattanooga at 6 p.m. in the Georgia State Tournament, held on the campus of Georgia State.
