Georgia Tech Men and Women Drop Tri-Meet to Georgia and South Carolina

ATHENS, Ga. – Freshman Jing Li tallied a pair of runner-up finishes in the 200-yard fly (2:04.72) and 500 freestyle (4:57.85) to lead Georgia Tech against Georgia and South Carolina on Thursday.

The Yellow Jackets (0-3, 0-1 ACC) fell to the Bulldogs, 187-53, and to the Gamecocks, 140-100, while the women (1-3, 1-1 ACC) dropped the event to Georgia, 146-87, and South Carolina, 145.5-95.5.

Sophomore Noah Copeland was the top-finisher for the men, coming in second (1:40.85) in the 200 free. Copeland also finished the 100 free in fourth with a time of 46.42.

Junior Stephanie England placed second in the one-meter springboard event with a score of 249.05 and finished third on the three-meter board with a score of 271.00.

Freshman Ryan Crete clocked a time of 9:29.75 in the 1000 free to touch the wall in second for the Jackets.

Tech will return home for their annual alumni meet during homecoming weekend on Friday, October 27, beginning at 5 p.m. in the Georgia Tech Aquatics Center.
