Georgia Tech Football Media Day -- Mansfield Wrotto

Aug. 3, 2006

GEORGIA TECH FOOTBALL MEDIA DAY – Senior Offensive Lineman Mansfield Wrotto:

On switching back and forth between positions last year

It was more my idea. I was trying to do what was best for the team. They wanted me on the offensive line last year, so I stepped up. I had played offensive line in high school so I was familiar with the position.

On progress at new position

Very good. Last spring I was a couple of years out of high school, so I was a little unfamiliar with the position but I kept up with the plays and learned some techniques over the summer. So when they moved me back to offensive tackle, it was a little easier than guard.

On being the only senior on offensive line

I speak up, though I am the new guy on the offensive line, I say some stuff. Though when it comes to some of the other guys like Matt Rhodes and Kevin Tuminello, who have been starting for a couple years, I will sit back and be a rookie for a little bit because they have more experience than me. Though I have stepped up and have given some inspirational speeches at times, when they are tired or when their minds have wondered off a little bit.
