Gardner Named ACC Offensive Lineman Of The Week

Sept. 22, 2008

Andrew Gardner, who helped lead Georgia Tech to 438 rushing yards and 500 total yards last Saturday in a 38-7 win over Mississippi State, was named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week on Monday.

Gardner, an All-American candidate, wins the honor for the second time this season.

Gardner was instrumental in Georgia Tech’s 438 rushing yards — the fifth-highest single-game total in school history and the most since 1978. The Tyrone, Ga., native played every significant snap in the win over the Bulldogs.

Georgia Tech has an open date this week before hosting Duke October 4 at noon.
