Game One Of No. 22 Softball Series At UVA Suspended In The Third Inning

April 22, 2011

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Game one of the series between No. 22/22 Georgia Tech and Virginia was suspended in the top of the third inning and will resume at Noon on Saturday due to rain. Game two of the series will then be played approximately 25 minutes after the completion of the suspended game and the final game of the series has been cancelled.

The Yellow Jackets took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a RBI single by Kristine Priebe, but play was halted in the next at bat with junior Jessica Sinclair at the plate. After sitting through a one hour and 40 minute rain delay play resumed just after 7 p.m. ET, but another heavy downpour came through a few minutes later and the decision was made to suspend until Saturday.

This is the third time this season Tech has had a game in an ACC series suspended due to rain.
